My Experience With Varicose Veins

Otitis Media My experience with varicose veins has been one of many spiders and much pain. I knew a time when I did not have any varicose veins but then neither did I have three wonderful children, one son and two daughters whom I would not trade for all the tea in China. My varicose veins did not show up until after I had my third child. What a small price to pay for the sheer joy of bringing a life into the world.

These veins run up and down my legs like gig saw puzzles but the best part about them is they are not contagious. You can't catch them from me. You either have them or you don't.

If you have varicose veins that hurt take a load off of them and elevate your legs placing them higher than your heart. Don't sit or stand too long as this will exacerbate the condition. Get the best darn pair of compression stocking you can afford and put them on before you hit the floor. That is before you arise from your slumber.

Varicose veins may be hereditary; the reason for this statement is that my father suffered with them and subsequently had them removed by a procedure known as stripping. Today, doctors do fewer of these procedure as there are newer non-surgical ways to treat varicose veins.

It has been my experience to have my varicose veins bulge out of my legs like grapes and just when I thought they would burst the sudden elevation of my legs would immediately relieve the swelling at which time I would put on my compression stockings making the pain subside. Compression stocking have helped me over the years to walk without pain. They can be pricey but last a long time with reasonable care.

As I type this article I must be mindful that sitting too long will cause me pain. So, off I go to put on my compression stockings and I'll be back again.

I have reached the ripe young years of seventy-four and haven't had any surgery performed on my legs and don't intend to because I follow all the procedures of home care.

Controlling my weight has helped relieve the pain of varicose veins..

Now you know about the incy wincy spiders that went up my legs one day and never came down.

So, if I decide at seventy-five to have them removed it will just be vanity because my husband and I agree that with or without them I'm still me, varicose veins and all.

ear infection with radiating pain to jaw and neck?
Hi, I went to a medi clinic and the doctor quickly looked at my ear, said it was infected and gave me Nu-amoxil for the infection and nasonex to lessen the inflammation. This did not help with anything so a few days later I went to my family doctor and was given ear drops, Ciprodex (anti-bacterial and corticosteroid for inflammation) and have been on that for 3 days, combined with the previous med, and so far nothing has helped. I still have really bad ear aches when i'm not taking advil for the pain, the pain radiates down into my jaw and partially my neck and when the advil wears off I can feel a pulse in my ear. My hearing is completely blocked and has not been getting any better over the past week, in fact, it seems to be at it's worst. This is going on day 8 from the first day the symptoms have started and i'm beginning to wonder if this is the normal course of infection and I need to continue to wait it out or is this more serious than my family doctors diagnosis of acute otitis media and otitis external? I am 26 years old and I haven't experienced an ear ache since I was about 8. Just wondering what other adults around my age have experienced?

Natural/Home Remedies for ear infection?
I'm pretty sure I have an ear infection. Both my ears hurt (especially when I swallow or talk) and I have all the symptoms for an ear infection (otitis media). The doctor's office is a long drive from my house, so I would prefer trying some natural/home remedies for an ear infection before taking the long drive to my doc's office.
